DESIGN

Design includes selected 2D collections and 3D garments recently produced. Generally, the collections include a mood board, color story, fabric story, technical flats, and lineup. Garments are produced using a combination of draped (primarily) and flat pattern making; in the process of drape --> pattern --> assemble --> edit --> repeat. Many garments include a step where I convert darts, basic seams, and added areas of fullness, into other sinuous seams. I refer to this method as transformational reconstruction.
During the development process, I generally gear towards shape and proportion or embellishment. Really, if I am being honest, building the toile is my favorite, and likely most frustrating, part of the process. But to me it is where I get the most ideas, and keeps the experience very rewarding.
